Template documentation[view] [edit] [history] [purge]

This template provides a bibliographic details for citations of works by Fred T. Jane.

The 1st parameter is an optional article/chapter title.

The 2nd parameter is the page referred to.

The 3rd parameter (defaulting to ww2) is used as a switch for the work, accepting the following values:

  • 1945
  • 1951
  • 1953 ships
  • 1964
  • 1973 ships
  • 1977 ships
  • 1988 ships
  • 1991 or 20th
  • 1993
  • ww1 or wwi

Usage

You can use this template with no parameters, and it will output the following basic book citation:

Bridgeman, Leonard. Jane's Fighting Aircraft of World War II. London: Studio, 1946. ISBN:1 85170 493 0.

Optional parameters are available, describing specific entry and page number. These have been added in support of more robust citation.

for example,

{{Ref Jane's|The Hawker Hurricane|128-129}}

produces: Bridgeman, Leonard. "The Hawker Hurricane." Jane's Fighting Aircraft of World War II. London: Studio, 1946. p. 128-129. ISBN:1 85170 493 0.

while

{{Ref Jane's|The Hawker Hurricane}}

results in: Bridgeman, Leonard. "The Hawker Hurricane." Jane's Fighting Aircraft of World War II. London: Studio, 1946. ISBN:1 85170 493 0.

please note that only including a page number won't really work properly.

Books other than Fighting Aircraft of WWII

Additional Jane's references may be added to the template and selected with the use of a third parameter.

for example,

{{Ref Jane's | The Example Aircraft | 111 | wwi }}

results in: Grey, C.G. "The Example Aircraft." Jane's Fighting Aircraft of World War I. London: Studio, 1919. p. 111. ISBN:1 85170 347 0.
