Template:Avibase/doc

Purpose

The template is for making external links to the Avibase ornithology taxonomy database.

Format

1. |id= - slug of Avibase page URL; if no value is entered, the template will attempt to fetch it from Wikidata
2. |name= - text to display; defaults to page name of no value is entered

The Avibase ID can be found in the search results for that species. (Note this is not the same as the Taxomic Serial Number).

Example of usage

Get data from Wikidata

Use page name

*{{avibase|1BB50DE8362A4963}}

will be displayed as

• "Avibase/doc". Avibase. https://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/species.jsp?lang=EN&avibaseid=1BB50DE8362A4963. 

Full

*{{avibase|1BB50DE8362A4963|Turdus merula}}

will be displayed as

• "Turdus merula". Avibase. https://avibase.bsc-eoc.org/species.jsp?lang=EN&avibaseid=1BB50DE8362A4963. 

Tracking categories

• Category:Avibase ID not in Wikidata (0)
• Category:Avibase ID different from Wikidata (0)
• Category:Avibase ID same as Wikidata (0)
• Category:Avibase template with no id set (exists in template, not created)
