Mode

From HandWiki

A random variable X can either assume a number of discrete values xi (with probabilities P(X=xi)) or continuous values x (with a probability density function f(x)).

The mode xm of a distribution is defined as that value of x for which the probability of observing the random variables is a maximum, i.e.

If a distribution has only one mode it is called unimodal, otherwise multimodal.
