Sitticus is a genus of jumping spiders that was first described by Eugène Louis Simon in 1901.[4]

Species

In 2016 and 2017, Jerzy Prószyński split the genus Sitticus, reducing it to less than 40 species. He created five new genera: Sittiab, Sittiflor (now Calositticus), Sittilong, Sittipub (now Hypositticus) and Sittisax, with some species transferred to Attulus.[1][5] (As of August 2019) it contains thirty-eight species, found in Asia, North America, Europe, South America, and South Africa :[1]
