Allama Khalid Mahmud (Allama Khalid Mahmood, علّامہ خالد محمود) is a Pakistani Islamic scholar following the Hanafi , Deobandi school of Islamic thought.[2] He is the author of Aasaar-ut-Tanzeel.
Education
Allama Khalid Mahmood studied Islamic Sciences from Muhammad Zakariya Kandhlawi, Maulana Shamsul Haq Afghani, Shabbir Ahmad Usmani and Maulana Badre Alam Meerthi.[1] He received his PhD degree in 1970 from University of Birmingham.[3]
Career
He served as a justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (Shariat Appellate Bench).[4] He is also director of the Islamic Academy of Manchester UK.[5] He is the patron of many Islamic organizations and research foundations. He is also known for his knowledge on fiqh issues and comparative religions such as Christianity, Judaism, Hinduism, and many others. He is an expert in many fields of Islamic knowledge, including Jurisprudence (fiqh), hadith, logic, debate, and many more. He also held a number of positions on the Shariah Boards of prestigious Islamic institutions, and is one of the most influential Islamic scholars outside Pakistan.
