The sheikh Abdul Qadir bin Mohammed Al-Jaziri (Arabic: عبد القادر بن محمد الجزيري) was a scholar and historian of the Islamic Hambali school between 911-977 AH.

Birth

Abdul Qadir bin Mohammed Al-Jaziri was born on Wednesday, the 16th of the month of Sha'ban in 911 AH in Upper Mesopotamia, close to Baghdad, Iraq.

Lineage

Abdul Qadir Bin Mohammed bin Abdul Qadir bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim al-Ansary al-Jazeery. And his nickname was Zayn ad-Din al-Jazeery, originally from Upper Mesopotamia.

Biography

The sheikh Abdul Qadir in a scholarly environment. His father, Muhammad bin Abdul Qadir, was a doctor and he worked in the hospital inside the Madrassa of Al-Nasir Muhammad in Cairo, Egypt. He practiced ophthalmological medicine (medicine of the eye). The sheikh Abdul Qadir was at first very preoccupied with seeking knowledge, and he was inclined to learn Sufism in his early youth. He made hajj (pilgrimage) with his father, serving as his caretaker. He was also inclined toward commerce and trade. In the year 940 AH, he worked with his father as a clerk (as Diwan of the Imam al-Hajj) until his father died.
