Astronomy:Keeping Emulation Environments Portable

From HandWiki

Keeping Emulation Environments Portable (KEEP) is an EU research project (7th Framework) co-financed by the EU. In 2007 the Keeping Emulation Environments Portable project develops Digital preservation tools and methodologies to keep digital software objects available in their original context. Digital software objects as video games might get lost because of digital obsolescence and non-availability of required legacy hardware or operating system software. As most often the source code is not available anymore,[1] emulation is the only preservation opportunity. KEEP provided an emulation framework to help the creation of such emulators. Keep was developed by Vincent Joguin, launched in February 2009 and was coordinated by Elisabeth Freyre of the French National Library. [2]
