Neben den positiven Eigenschaften der Direktsaat bezüglich Erosionsschutz kann Direktsaat auch (sichtbar) zu Problemen führen. Häufig werden Flächen mit einem Totalherbizid abgespritzt. Die gelb bis braun verfärbten Felder stossen bei der Bevölkerung auf Ablehnung oder führen zu Nachfragen. Problemunkräuter wie Ackerschachtelhalm können verstärkt auftreten.
