Major facilitator superfamily domain containing 5 is an atypical SLC expressed in neuronal plasma membrane.[1] It is a plausible Solute carrier transporter.[2] It transports molybdate anions,[3] and it interacts with GLP-1R.[4]

MFSD5 belongs to AMTF6.[5]
