English: (NOTE: This image has been significantly digitally manipulated in comparison to the original, for details see further below.) Revox audio equipment from the late 1970s. On top is the reel-to-reel tape recorder B77, which was built from 1977 to 1982 (
Link with technical data). Below it is the analog stereo tuner B760, also bulit from 1977 to 1982 (
Link with technical data). The lowest device is the audio stereo amplifier B750 which was built from 1977 to 1978 (
Link with technical data) and was then replaced by the B750 MKII model.
The list prices in the 1970s were about 2.200 D-Mark (Deutsche Mark) for the amplifier, 2.400 D-Mark for the tuner and 2.200 D-Mark for the tape recorder, so that the devices on the image cost 6.800 D-Mark then, which would amount to a price of about 8.800 Euro in 2022 when taking inflation into account
The above picture of the three components is a result of extensive retouching work by the uploader with the free photo software GIMP and (to a lesser extent) free IrfanView. Works carried out were:
- removing a "ton distortion" (rounded lines which are absolutely straight in reality, best visible in the original image on the lowermost device) in the original image, which is quite frequent in photography and comes from the used camera. This correction was made with a software module from the (also free) plug-ins of the image viewer and manipulation freeware "IrfanView", to be found in the menu "Perspective transformations"
- removing the entire background, meaning room walls and furniture also visible in the image, around the devices
- removing the quite high shelves on which the single devices are standing, and making it appear as if the devices are stacked directly onto each other
- equalizing the exposure level (brightness) between the three devices, because the recorder on top was brightest, and the amplifier below was a bit too dark
