scavis SCaVis is an environment for scientific computation, data analysis and data visualization designed for scientists, engineers and students. The program incorporates many open-source software packages into a coherent interface using the concept of dynamic scripting.

SCaVis software can be used everywhere where an analysis of large numerical data volumes, data mining, statistical analysis and math computations are essential (natural sciences, engineering, modeling and analysis of financial markets).

SCaVis program is fully multiplatform and runs on any platform where Java is installed. As a Java application, SCaVis takes the full advantage of multicore processors.

SCaVis can be used with several scripting languages for the Java platform, such as BeanShell, Jython (the Python programming language), Groovy and JRuby (Ruby programming language). This brings more power and simplicity for scientific computation. The programming can also be done in native Java. Finally, symbolic calculations can be done using Matlab/Octave high-level interpreted language.

SCaVis runs on Windows, Linux, Mac and Android operating systems. The Android application is called AWork. Thus the software represents the ultimate analysis framework which can be used on any hardware, such as desktops, laptops, netbooks, production servers and android tablets.

SCaVis is a portable application. No installation is needed: simply download and unzip the package, and you are ready to run it. One can run it from a hard drive, from a USB flash drive or from any media. One can carry around with you on a portable device and use on any Windows, Mac and Linux computer.



SCaVis is a successor of the popular jHepWork package which has been  under intensive development since 2005. It is fully backward compatible with jHepWork 3.9.
